We have four lovely holiday cottages situated within the grounds of Newtimber Place, a beautiful 17th Century Moated manor house.  The setting is idyllic, very rural, and surrounded by green countryside in the midst of the South Downs National Park.  

It is with regret that we cannot accept pets as sheep graze in fields surrounding the cottages.  Smoking is also not allowed inside the cottages.

Orchard Cottage is situated in a walled garden, and it has its own separate garden. As such it is ideal for families, and although it has stairs, we have provided a bedroom downstairs for those who prefer to live on one level.

Stables Cottage has its own separate garden and views of fields and views of the moated house Newtimber Place. As such it is ideal for families, and although it has stairs, we have provided a bedroom downstairs for those who prefer to live on one level.

Moatside Holiday Cottages

MOATSIDE COTTAGES 1 and 2

Moatside Cottages are situated overlooking the moat surrounding the manor house.  They do have a shared garden but each has its own table and chairs and pegoda.  They are fenced, but small children would have to be supervised as there is deep water the other side of the fence. They have been awarded 4 Star Gold for 2024  by the AA.

Moatside Cottages each have two bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin.  They are both on one level - no stairs - and have underfloor heating, provided by a heat pump which takes heat from the adjoining field to keep the cottages nice and warm in the winter.

1 MOATSIDE COTTAGES was originally the carpenter's workshop.The master bedroom has an ensuite shower room and toilet; the twin bedroom has ensuite bathroom with a shower over the bath. There is a fully fitted kitchen with the usual appliances including freezer, microwave, washer/dryer machine and dishwasher. There is parking for 2 cars.

2 MOATSIDE COTTAGES was originally the stables, and the sitting room has a tall ceiling with exposed oak beams. The double bedroom has a shower/basin ensuite (the toilet is not-ensuite). The twin bedroom has a bathroom adjoining. There is an additional toilet in the utility room off the living room.  There is a fully fitted kitchen with the usual appliances including freezer, microwave, washer/dryer machine and dishwasher. There is parking for 2 cars.
